It may sound cooler in Norwegian, but in Norway we call Simen our “security philosopher.”

He has a broad background in security and preparedness, both from the Police and the Armed Forces and in the humanitarian organization Norwegian Red Cross. His field of interest is how security can be balanced against freedom and other central civil rights in a good way in democratic societies.

This includes both cyber security and the use of various police and intelligence methods; how economics and politics affect the government's approach to structured risk management; gray area issues; influence operations and disinformation.
